How do I get on the waiting list for a mooring? Fill out a mooring waiting list application and returning it with the $25 fee.
Do I have to be a resident of Cohasset to be on the waiting list? No, anyone can be on the waiting list or have a mooring in the harbor.
How long a wait is it for a mooring? The list is very long, the typical wait is 15 – 20 years.
Do I have to pay a fee every year to stay on the waiting list? No, but you have to reaffirm your intention to stay on the list every year between Jan 1 through April 1. This can be done by emailing the office, faxing it, sending a letter in the mail or dropping it off at the office. You can also stop by in person to sign your application.
If I forget to reaffirm, do I loose my place on the list? No, You will have to pay a $50 late fee to remain on the waiting list.
Does the town have transient moorings available? Yes, the fee for the use is $35 per night.
How many moorings become available for reassignment each year? It depends on how many people wish to give up their mooring.
When are mooring bills sent out? The bills are sent out by Feb 1 and they have to be paid by April 1.
If I forget to pay my mooring bill on time do I loose the mooring? No, but you will have to pay a $100 late fee.
What is the maximum size dinghy I can tie to a town dock and is there a fee? The maximum length is 12 feet and the fee is $75 if you pay a mooring fee in the harbor. If you do not pay a mooring or a user fee, the cost is $275.00.
