Description:
Under the Town Manager Act, the Town Manager serves as the chief administrative office of the Town and is responsible to the Board of Selectmen for the effective management of all town affairs placed in the manager's chart by the Act. The Town Manager Act provides that the Town Manager is responsible for the design and preparation of the annual budget, including all proposed revenues and expenditures. The Town Manager also appoints all paid town employees (excluding school employees), and negotiates all collective bargaining agreements with Town unions (excluding school unions).

Citizens are encouraged to contact the Town Manager and his staff if they:

• Request to be placed on the agenda of an upcoming Selectmen's meeting.
• Have questions regarding town finances, Proposition 2 ½ and other finance related matters.
• Have interest in employment with the Town of Cohasset and wish to know if there are any vacancies they might be qualified to fill
• Seek guidance on how to submit a citizens petition for the annual or a special town meeting
• Seek the assistance of Town Manager's office to resolve a question or issue relating to another town department or official
• Seek information on town procurement of supplies, materials and services, or to receive information on a project or procurement currently out to bid
• Seek information on liquor, common victualer, junk dealer and other licenses issued by the Board of Selectmen.
