Services: The Treasurer/Collector’s office is responsible for the issuance of and collection of the following bills:
- * Real estate
- * Personal property
- * Water
- * Automobile excise
- Boat excise
* These bills can be paid online at www.mcc.net 
Other Treasurer/Collector functions include:
- issuance of municipal lien certificates
- initiating liens against delinquent taxpayers
- preparation of lien redemptions
- payroll administration and preparation
- administration of Towns employee benefit program
- maintenance of towns banking relationships
- debt and cash management activities
- investment of town funds
Important tax Information:
Real estate and personal property tax bills:
- Cohasset operates using a fiscal year – July1 through June 30.
- Tax bill payments are due are on a quarterly basis – August 1, November 1, February 1, and May 1.
- Billings are done four per year – September, December, March, and June.
- Interest and penalties may be charged for late payments.
Motor vehicle excise tax bills:
- Bills are mailed when billing data is mailed from the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
- Vast majority of bills are mailed mid February.
- Interest and Penalties may be charged for late payments.
- License and registration renewals may be held up due to late payments.
Water bills:
- Bills are mailed four (4) times per year: August, November, February and May.
- Payment is due within 30 days of mailing.
- Interest and penalties may be charged for late payments.
- Unpaid water bills are liened over to Real Estate 3rd Quarter bills in early
- December. Real Estate Bill payment is due on February 1.
